Sprint Partners With GetJar to Offer Over 60,000 Free Applications
Sprint customers everywhere should be happy with this news: Sprint has partnered with GetJar to offer over 60,000 free applications to it's customers. This includes phones that aren't smartphones, like the LG Lotus or Samsung Rant, in addition to the smartphone lineup. There will be a link on upcoming phones for access to the application store right from the phone, without having to type the website into the phone browser. You can get the applications by going to GetJar's website either from your mobile phone or computer, and if you're on your phone, it should be able to detect your model and display what apps are available for you to download. There are also payed apps and the applications that have been on Sprint's Digital Lounge still available, but this new selection of free apps is a great bonus for customers. Just be aware that if you don't have a data plan on your account, you will probably be charged for using the internet on your device and downloading the applications. You can find the GetJar website here. (Sprint)
