Three Sprint Smartphones Now Just $29!

If you are in the market for a smartphone, for whatever reason, you probably have seen the price on some of the new devices. Some new smartphones are $200 or more! But with Sprint, you can now get your choice of three smartphones, each just $29 with a new contract or upgrade. The Blackberry Pearl, Palm Centro, and Samsung Ace are three good phones, they just aren't the latest and greatest phones out on the market. But if you just want a full keyboard and your email with you, maybe with some web browsing included, you can grab one of these phones online or in a Sprint store.

The Samsung Instinct s30 Just $29 Now At Sprint

The Samsung Instinct, one of Sprint's first major touch screen devices, was an ok phone. Now the Instinct line has two new phones, the s30 and the HD. The Instinct HD is a good phone, but most people won't spend $249 on a non-smartphone just for a very good camera and video camera. If you have been wanting a cheap touchscreen for Sprint, though, you can now get the Samsung Instinct s30 for just $29 with a new two year contract or qualified contract. The phone is a full touch screen device, with a two megapixel camera, Sprint TV, Sprint Email, and a touch screen keyboard. Act fast though, because nobody will know how long the device will last this cheap!

Need a Cheap Messaging Phone? The LG Lotus Is Free!

With the release of a new phone in the lineup, it is almost a given that you would want to clear out an old model. Well, if you don't like the new Lotus, or don't want to spend that much on a phone, you can now grab an original LG Lotus for free from Sprint! The phone has a full QWERTY keyboard, a two megapixel camera, high speed internet, in a flip phone design. You can get the phone in red, purple, or black, and the purple and black models have a "vine" design on the front of the phone. The new price is with a new contract or qualified upgrade.

LG Rumor Touch Coming Soon!

The popular LG Rumor, one of the first messaging devices on the Sprint network, has been around for a while. Most people aren't using their original Rumor, but LG might just get you back to the Rumor series with the newest addition to the line, the Rumor Touch. It includes a three inch touch screen along with a full slide out keyboard. The keyboard seems to be more like the Rumor 2, which is a good thing in our opinion. The phone offers other improvements over the other Rumors, including a touch screen (Rumor touch, anyone?), the addition of high speed (something that should have been on the second...), and support for memory cards up to 32 GB. The pricing and availability details haven't been announced yet, besides it being available in the first quarter of the year. (Sprint)

LG Lotus Elite Now Available, $99 Price

The rumored LG Lotus Elite (which we previously mentioned) is now available on Sprint. The phone has the same square shape as the old Lotus, but now with an external touchscreen, support for larger memory cards, and more shortcut keys, now for social networking including the text messaging button. The phone still has the two megapixel camera, and comes in red and black. The camera can also rotate on the hinge of the phone, so that you can take self portraits easily without closing the phone. The phone still includes the full keyboard that is found on the original LG Lotus. (Sprint)

Want to Help In Haiti? Text "Haiti" to 90999, No Text Fees

By now, you must have heard about the earthquake in Haiti. Aid is slowly coming in to help the people in the country, but most of us normal people can't go there to help ourselves. If you would like to donate $10 to the American Red Cross to the effort to help, you can text "Haiti" to 90999. Sprint customers have already donated over $1.2 million, simply by sending this message. If you don't have text messaging included in your plan, if doesn't matter, because Sprint has announced that they are going to waive the fees for text messaging. The $10 will only count against your next bill, and none of the money is being kept by Sprint or your carrier. The Sprint foundation has also donated $50,000 to the effort. (Sprint)

Sprint Wins Boy Genius Report 3G Test for Download Speeds, Comes Second in Upload

We just reported that Sprint had won over AT&T and Verizon in download and came second in upload, but now we have the final results, with T-Mobile included. It looks like T-Mobile doesn't have one of the best 3G networks, coming in third for download speed and in last for upload speeds. Sprint did very good in the overall results, coming in first for download speeds, and coming in second for upload speeds. You can see all the results at this Boy Genius Report link.

Sprint Blows Past AT&T and Verizon in Boy Genius Download Speed Test

We have all heard the cell phone companies claiming that their network is the best, but it looks like Sprint won an award that it doesn't even claim to have. In a Boy Genius Report test of Sprint's download and upload speeds over their 3G network, their download speed beat both AT&T and Verizon, and their upload beat AT&T. Not bad, for a network that just claims to be the Most Reliable, and bad for AT&T which claims to have the fastest 3G network...
